The Monastery of San Jeronimo is mainly Renaissance in style and two fine plateresque doorways give entrance to the cloister. Much of the work was done by Diego de Silve. Inside, there is a magnificent altarpiece which took over twenty years to complete and a splendid roof adorned with angels and saints. The tomb of Gonzola Fernandez, the Gran Captain who supported the construction of La Cartuja, is inside the church.
