The Museum of Contemporary Art is housed in an early 18th Century building within the city walls. Constructed as an arsenal and used as a barracks, it was converted in 1969 into an art museum. The main collection is displayed in the former ammunition stores and stables. Most of the works are by artists living in Ibiza but some are by visitors to the island. There are also temporary exhibitions.
