The Parque Nacional de Ordesa Monte Perdido was one of the first protected parks in Spain. This is a beautiful, dramatic area with spectacular mountains, cliffs and glacial canyons. There are forests, mountain streams and waterfalls. Wildlife includes chamois, marmot and otters. Amongst the birds of prey are golden eagles and vultures. There are many well marked walking trails, including valley paths as well as mountain routes. Torla is a popular walking base as it is the gateway to the park.
