The Parc Nacional d`Aiguestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici is a beautiful mountain area with forests, lakes and mountains up to 3000 metres high. The most common trees are conifers and birch and beech. Many flowers bloom in spring and summer. Chamois and wild boar may be seen. Private cars are prohibited but there are many opportunities for walks. A recommended walk from Espot is to Estany Negre through the Peguera valley.
