The Paseo de los Tristes is a lovely square beside the River Darro. It takes its name from funeral processions that came this way on their way to the cemetery. Another name is Paseo del Padre Monjon after Father Monjon who founded a school for the poor of Sacromonte. There are cafes with outdoor tables in the square and it is a popular place from which to view the Alhambra, especially at sunset.
