Pitres is a village in the Alpujarras situated in fine walking country. In the valley below are ancient hamlets with paths between them that wind through woods and orchards. Near the little place of Fondales is an Islamic bridge spanning the deep Rio Trevelez gorge. Next to it is a ruined Moorish mill. Another good walk is betwen the attractive villages of Ferreirola and Busquistar.
