St John of God was the founder of the Order of the Knights Hospitallers. The museum is housed in the mansion where he lived during the last part of his life. It belonged to the Pisa family and, after the last member died, the Hospitaller Order obtained the building. It is dedicated to the Order`s founder and the museum contains material about the saint, sculptures, including ones of Jesus as a baby, and paintings.
