Avenida de la Cinta, Huelva 21005 - Spain

Map
Christopher Columbus is said to have prayed in the chapel Santuario de Nuestra Senora de la Cinta before setting off for the first time to the New World. The attractive, white chapel is in the Gothic Mudejar style with an artesanado timber ceiling. The altarpiece has a painting of the virgin and to the right is a decoration of the voyager`s ship. The Virgen de la Cinta is carried in a procession from the sanctuary to the cathedral every year on the 8th of September.
