The Teatre-Museu Dali was founded by the Surrealist artist Salvador Dali on the site of a ruined theatre. It was here that Dali had his first exhibition when he was fourteen. The building has a transparent dome, and in its courtyard is a sculpture with a Cadillac and fountain. Although the museum houses a varied selection of Dali`s work, his most famous paintings are in other museums all over the world. There are many superb displays, and works by other artists. Dali died in 1989 and is buried in the crypt.
