Tejeda is a peaceful, mountain village sitting at 1000 metres above sea level in the centre of the Caldera de Tejeda. An Almond Festival is held here during early February with folk music and traditional foods. It celebrates the flowering of the almond trees around the village. Almond biscuits and almond confections are sold here. Have a look at the Church of Nuestra Senora del Socorro with its unusual roof.
