Ajuy is a fishing village on the shores of a small bay surrounded by cliffs. It is here that Jean de Bethencourt landed in the early 15th Century and conquered Fuerteventura Island. For many years afterwards the cove was used as a harbour by those who came to settle on the island. Today`s visitors can explore the caves and cliff paths. It is a good place for scuba diving and there are several restaurants.
