Alajar is a picturesque village with whitewashed houses clustered below a church. The church dates from the 18th Century and is in the Baroque style with a pointed spire. Not far from the village is a white chapel housing the 13th Century Nuestra Senora Reina de los Angeles. The chapel has a fine ceiling and attractive azulejo tiles. It is also worth visiting for the superb views.
