Sardina is an attractive village with a fishing harbour and a sheltered beach of fine, black sand. It is very popular with local people at the weekend. It is also a favourite place for sailing, windsurfing and diving. There are several restaurants and Sardina is well-known as a place to enjoy fresh fish. The north and west coast of Gran Canaria meet a mile north-west of Sardina at the lighthouse of Punta de Sardina.
