The Alcazar was built by the Almohads in the 12th Century and it can be reached through the Puerto de la Ciudad, the City Gate. Within the Alcazar is a mosque that was converted into a chapel in the mid 13th century. There are also Arab baths. In the 18th Century Palacio de Villavicencio there is a camera obscura that offers panoramic views of Jerez De La Frontera.
