An easy walk starts in Lajares that leads to the 720 foot high summit of Calderon Hondo where there is a safe platform from which to view the volcanic crater and the surrounding countryside. From here views extend to the island of Lanzarote. On the way the route passes around Montana Colarado and it is also possible to climb the volcano Bayuyo. The trail follows an ancient path that links Coralejo on the coast with the interior of the island.
