Castillo de Santa Catalina sits on top of a hill with the same name high above the city of Jaen. The impressive fortress was established by the Moors, then rebuilt after being taken by King Fernando 111 in 1246. An interpretaton centre is located here and Santa Catalina`s Chapel is in one of the Albarranas Towers. From the hill are splendid views of the city and its surrounding olive groves.
