Lugo`s huge cathedral dates from 1129. Since then, it has been modified but the north doorway is still Romanesque. The Chapel of the Wide Eyed Virgin is by Fernando Casa y Novoa who worked on the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The Romanesque nave has barrel vaulting. Other features of interest include the large wooden altarpieces and baroque choir stalls. There is a small baroque cloister.
