The Centro Atlantico de Arte Moderno opened in the late 1980s and this contemporary art gallery is housed in an 18th Century mansion alongside similar well preserved buildings in a picturesque street. The museum was founded to form a link between Europe, Africa and America. The permanent exhibitions display the work of artists from the Canary Islands, Spanish mainland and other countries. There are also temporary exhibitions.
