The single nave Church of San Juan Bautista has a beautiful interior, including a wooden coffered ceiling and many decorations with fine sculptures by Lujan Perez and Fernando Estevez. Built in the 18th Century, it has a splendid belfry, and the church is considered one of the most important historic buildings in La Orotava. Outside the church is a bust of the Venezulelan President Romulo Betancourt, who died in 1981.
