The Igesia de la Candelaria is a fine early 20th Century church with two towers and a dome. It contains a Gothic altar and sculptures of San Jose and San Blas by Juan Lujan Perez. Born in 1756 in the town of Santa Maria de la Guia, he was the island`s most venerated sculptor and his work can be seen in many churches on the island. There are pleasant streets around the church and the town is well known for its handicrafts.
