The Provincial Museum in Illora is housed in an early 18th Century building which is in the Neo-classical style and at one time it was used as a barn. The collection consists of ceramics and other artefacts from the castle. There is also an exhibition hall for temporary displays. Nearby is the parish church and a castle which dominates the town.It dates from the 10th Century and was taken by the Catholic king in the 15th Century.
