Isla Cristina is no longer an island although it is partly separated from the mainland by an estuary. As well as being an important fishing port, it is now a popular summer resort with broad beaches stretching for several miles. They are composed of fine, white sand and have full amenities with first aid posts. The resort is also known for its windsurfing.
