The Museu de la Pell is located in an area where there are over seventy companies tanning leather. It is mainly used for goods such as footwear and upholstery. The museum has three sections and the visitor can learn about the Moroccan method of tanning hides and the history of leather from prehistoric times and its uses. There is also a section devoted to the evolution of leather in Igualada.
