Playa de Levante lies on the east side of the Bay of Gibraltar and here you will find the ruins of old fortifications including a watchtower from 1630. In the area are many Second World War bunkers built in preparation for an attack on Gibraltar. There are a number of good seafood restaurants and bars especially in the atmospheric fishing quarter. Do not miss the old hermitage.
