The old settlement of Llanca was built inland in the 10th Century because of the pirates who attacked the coast. It is a maze of narrow streets and at the centre is the main square of Placa Major with its pavement cafes and old plane tree over one hundred years old. Live music and traditional dancing takes place here in the summer months. Nearby is a 14th Century tower with battlements and a pyramid shaped roof. It is a venue for exhibitions.
