The Museum of Benito Perez Galdos occupies the house where the most important writer from the Canary Islands was born. He has been compared to Charles Dickens. He was born in 1843 and died in 1862 and the five storey building is evocative of the period in which he lived. It contains furniture from the family homes and objects associated with his life and work. In the patio is a statue of the writer.
