The Plaza De La Asuncion is a beautiful square with splendid buildings. Here you will find the 16th Century former town hall which has a superb Plasteresque facade with carvings. The square is also the location of the 15th Century Church of San Dionisio, the patron saint of the city. The Christians took the city from the Moors on the 9 October 1264, the feast day of San Dionisio.
