The Plaza del General Franco is a pleasant, tree lined square in the old part of the town. Beside it stands the 19th Century Neo-classical Town Hall. Its vault has heraldic arms and wall carvings of allegorical figures. During Corpus Christi, the square becomes the focus of religious activities and its paving stones are covered with colourful carpets made from volcanic ash, sand and soil.
