Portelo Beach is a Blue Flag beach which is sheltered and composed of fine sand. It is about half a mile long and there is a seafront esplanade. Access is provided for the disabled and there are footbridges. This beach is popular during the summer months and it is cleaned each day. Signs are used to indicate the conditions of the sea.
