This majestic church dates from the 14th Century and it is the home of Jaen`s patron saint, the Virgen de la Capilla, whose statue is in a special chapel. The church has been remodelled several times in different styles and has Gothic, Renaissance and neo-Clasical facades. On the Gothic facade is a mosaic of the Virgin`s appearance at Jaen in 1430. Inside are splendid altarpieces and a lovely tabernacle.
