The Visitor and Interpretation Centre for the Timanfaya National Park is located on the boundary of the park near the village of Mancha Blanca. The building is partly underground. The park, covering an area of around 51 square kilometres, has a volcanic range in its interior. Although a hostile environment, it is home to lizards and lichens. At the visitor centre there is a permanent exhibition and in the Eruption Hall you can experience the simulated movements of a volcanic eruption.
