The attractive village of Banyalbufar is known for its terraced hillsides that slope down to the sea. It was founded by the Moors who divided up the inhospitable clifftop land by drystone walls to make their vineyards. Nowadays, mostly vegetables are grown, provided with water by a spring. The village with its whitewashed houses, 15th Century church and narrow streets is popular with artists and has a rocky beach.
