The Basilica de San Miguel was designed by Italian Giacomo Bonavio for the youngest son of Felipe V, Don Luis. The boy was the Archbishop of Toledo from the age of five. Originally the basilica was dedicated to the child saints Justo and Pastor, and it is a rare example of 18th Century baroque, with a convex facade and four statues representing charity, fortitude, faith and hope. Inside, the church has a single nave, ribbed vaulting, 18th Century frecoes and contemporary stained glass windows.
