The Basilica of Sant Franesc dates from the 13th Century but was rebuilt in the 17th Century after it was struck by lightning. The building has a large rose window and a beautiful carved baroque doorway. Inside is a single nave and in a chapel is the tomb of Ramon Llull who died in 1316. Completed in the 14th Century, the fine cloister has decorated capitals and a painted ceiling. Outside the church is a statue of Franciscan Junipero Serra who founded missions in California in the 18th Century.
