Beget is a beautiful mountain village lying beside a stream in a peaceful, wooded valley. Its rough stone houses have wooden balconies and the 12th Century Church of Sant Cristofor stands at the entrance to the village. Built in the Romanesque style, it is home to the Majestat de Beget, a magnificent wooden image of Christ carved in the 12th Century. Very few of these images remain in Catalonia as most were destroyed in the Civil War.
