Benasque is a delightful village situated at the head of the Esera Valley in the Pyrennes. There are many old houses and a 13th Century church and it is a good centre for climbers and walkers. It is located on the GR11 long distance trail. There are some easy walks but for the surrounding peaks that exceed 3000 metres mountaineering equipment and experience are required.
