The Museo Taurino adjoins Las Ventas bullring, an amazing building that seats 22,000 spectators. It was built in 1930 and along a wall is a life-size mural of nine bulls. The museum traces the development of modern bullfighting and houses portraits and busts of legendary bullfighters. On display is the costume worn by Manolete in 1947 on the day he was gored and died. There are also heads of famous bulls including the one that killed Manuel Garcia Espartero in 1894.
