Carme Church

The Carme Church is a large Baroque church built in the mid 18th Century as a Carmelite convent. During its building, remains of a Roman site was uncovered and finds such as coins and pottery are now in Menorca Museum. Next to the church was the cloister but it was taken from the Carmelites in 1835. It was used as a prison and courts of justice. It is now a market where fresh foods are sold.
