Carnicerias Reales was the Royal Butchery. Dating from the 16th Century, it was designed by Francisco del Casillo. This is a well preserved building with a central patio and it has semi-circular galleries with columns and towers at its corners. Especialy splendid is the stone, spiral staircase. The former slaughterhouse is often the venue for exhibitions of paintings and other art.
