The Casa de Campo is an area of pine forests, scrub and heath in western Madrid. It was founded as a royal hunting estate in the 6th Century by Felipe 11. Since 1931 it has been open to the public and here you will find mountain bike trails and a picnic area. There are also tennis courts, a swimming pool and rowing boats to hire on a large lake.
