Casa Iriate is the house where Tomas de Iriate, an 18th Century poet and playwright was born. A great scholar and translator as well, he went to Madrid at the age of 13 and stayed there until he died in 1791. The house is of architectural interest and has traditional carved balconies and a lovely interior courtyard. Part of the building now houses a maritime museum.
