The Casa Museo de Lope de Vega is where the playwright Lope de Vega spent the last twenty-five years of his life. The house is a typical 17th Century building, and it has been carefully restored with the furniture of its period. The writer is said to have written 1,500 plays as well as poetry and novels. During his life he had several passionate affairs and fathered many children. When he died in 1635, the funeral carried on for several days.
