The Cathedral of Murcia dates from the 14th Century but has a splendid Baroque facade designed by architect and sculptor Jaime Bort. There is an 18th Centry belfry over 300 feet high that was completed by Ventura Rodriguez. Highlights include the Renaisance Capilla de los Junterones and the Capilla de los Velez with its star vaulting and Mudejar motifs. The sacristy has Plateresque carvings and an unusual dome.
