In the old settlement of Pajara, the Church of Our Lady of Regla is well known for the motif decorations above its red sandstone doorway. Depicting fish, birds, lions and snakes, they are thought to have been inspired by contact with Aztec art. Inside, the 17th Century church has two naves, each with a baroque high altar. Opposite the church is a camel driven water pump.
