The Iglesia de San Francisco is an interesting, Gothic church that was remodelled in the Baroque style in the 18th Century. Much of the work was done by local architect Juan de Dios Santaella and one of the main features is the lovely portal. Priego de Cordoba enjoyed prosperity during the 18th Century because of its silk production and some of its wealth was used on the town`s churches.
