The Church of San Julian de los Prados is the largest of the pre-Romanesque churches in Oviedo. It was built in the early 9th Century, at the time of Alfonso 11, and it has two aisles with a wide transept. At the eastern end are three chapels. The inside of the walls are covered with colourful frescoes with motifs similar to those seen in Roman villas. The church is also known as Iglesia de Santullano.
