On the slopes of Mount Naranco is the Church of San Miguel de Lillo, the 9th Century palace chapel built for King Ramiro 1. Not all of the church remains as part of it collapsed in the 13th Century. On the door frames are delicate carvings of acrobats. The church is 200 metres from the Church of Santa Maria del Naranco. Higher up the hill is a figure of Christ from where there are fine views of the city.
