The Church of Santa Maria stands in the interesting, old, historic quarter of Pineda De Mar. The building dates from the 16th Century and it has a Baroque facade with unusual designs. The octagonal bell tower was built in the 18th Century. Opposite the church is a restored 16th Century farmhouse whilst in Can de Quintonals courtyard stands a 16th Century Gothic cross. The town still has two 16th Century defensive towers.
