Carrer del Doctor Calatayud, Moraira 03724 - Spain

Map

The Church of the Virgen de los Desamparados was built in the late 19th Century from stone taken from Moraira Castle. The building has been refurbished several times and the architecture is typical of the region. It has stained glass windows with fine colours. On the east facade is an image of La Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen. A procession is held to honour her each year on the 16th of July.
