The Museo Nacional of Contemporary Art houses a collection of works by new artists such as Lucio Munoz, Genoves and Urculo. The museum is located in a large complex named after the 17th Century Duque de Olivaro who had a palace here. After the palace fell into ruin, a barracks was built on the site. This building has been restored and, as well as the museum, there are several exhibition halls, a cultural centre, a municipal library and council offices.
